Where to stay and recommended hotels

One of our most popular short haul destinations, Gran Canaria has excellent all year round weather with average maximum temperatures in the upper 20s in July and August, but still touching 20c in the cooler winter months. 

Here's a very brief guide to some of the resorts:

Playa del Ingles - the liveliest resort on the island, great for clubs, bars and shops, however there are quieter areas away from the main strip.

Puerto Rico - a lively resort with a couple of good beaches and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants/

Maspalomas - famous for the big sand dunes, and the waterpark.

Puero Mogan - a gem of a resort, this fishing village known as 'Little Venice' - think whitewashed houses, soft music, al-fresco dining by the marina.

San Agustin - a peaceful resort with excellent seafood restaurants.

Meloneras - upmarket resort with a few large but excellent hotels, quality local restaurants and cocktail bars, lovely promenade.

HD Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria, Playa Del Ingles (5* BB, HB, AI) - family hotel with splash park, excellent sports facilities, games room and daily evening entertainment.

Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa, Amadores (4.5* BB, HB, AI+) - located by the most photogenic beach in Gran Canaria, Playa Amadores.

Cordial Mogan Playa, Puerto de Mogan (4.5* BB, HB, HB+) - hotel set in lush botanical gardens, and also has a Michelin Star restaurant on site.

Bull Costa Canaria & Spa, San Agustin (4* HB, AI) - excellent beachfront location

Suites & Villas by Dunas, Maspalomas (4* HB, AI) - family friendly resort with large rooms, set in beautiful gardens.

Lopesan Villa Del Conde Resort & Corallium Thalasso, Meloneras (5* BB, HB, HB+) - on the seafront set in a Canarian village style with direct access to the promenade.

Lopesan Baobab Resort, Meloneras (5* BB, HB, HB+, FB) -  African themed hotel with swim up rooms, lagoon style pools, jungle like gardens, caves and waterfalls.

LIVVO Hotels Puerto de Mogan, Puerto de Mogan (4* HB) - great location down by the harbour, in a village style setting.

Lopesan Costa Meloneras, Meloneras (5* BB, HB, HB+) - large hotel with excellent choice of bars and restaurants, and excellent swim up rooms.

Bohemia Suites & Spa, Playa Del Ingles (5* SC, BB, HB) - adult only boutique hotel, great for relaxation with calming music, a great spa, and gardens of palm trees, cactus and orchids.

Seaside Palm Beach, Maspalomas (5* BB, HB, AI) - excellent dining in the 3 a-la-carte restaurants and a wonderful Asian inspired spa.

Paradisus by Melia Gran Canaria, San Agustin (5* AI+) - premium family friendly hotel with great kids facilities and excellent dining options in the 7 a-la-carte restaurants.

Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia, Maspalomas (5* BB, HB) - elegant, charming hotel, a member of 'The Leading Hotels of the World'.

Package Prices

Based on a week in mid June 2025, including flights from London Stansted, package prices range from around £850 per person up to around £1,850 plus per person. Please let us know your possible dates, and we'll advise the exact prices.
