New York Short Breaks

Enjoy a fabulous short break in New York - visit the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Rockefeller Centre, Macy's, Brooklyn Bridge and many other iconic sites.

Here we suggest a few of our favourite hotels to suit your budget, although we have a bigger selection if you would like more choices.

Recommended Hotels

These are in typical price order, with the cheapest accommodation showing first, but please contact us for full package rates.

All of these are in a perfect location, close to most of the major sites, although wherever you stay in New York you'll need to use either the subway or taxis to get to places such as Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.

How long to go for and what to do?

The most popular duration for a short break to New York is 5 nights - this means that you get 4 full days, plus the late afternoon and evening on the day you arrive, and the morning and early afternoon on the day that you leave. This should be enough time to see all the main iconic sites, and perhaps one or two more that you're particularly interested in.

Top things to do:

  1. Go to the top of the Empire State Building and enjoy sweeping views over Manhattan
  2. Visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
  3. Spend a morning wandering through Central Park
  4. Buy a 'cheap' last minute ticket and watch a show on Broadway
  5. Walk around the different New York neighbourhoods such as Greenwich Village, Chinatown and trendy Tribeca.
  6. Get amazing views of the Empire State Building and Central park from the 'Top of the Rock' at the Rockefeller  Centre.
  7. Visit the historic Grand Central Terminal railway station
  8. See the spectacular Brooklyn Bridge, which is even better at dusk!
  9. Go inside the New York Public Library (the architecture is quite stunning)
  10. Experience the hustle and bustle of Times Square

One of the tings I really like to do when visiting a city is to just wander around taking in the atmosphere, passing beautiful buildings, or finding something interesting that's not prominent in the guidebooks, and of course making a stop in a nice coffee shop for a well deserved drink!

PRICE NOTICE:   We are often asked about how prices compare to booking direct, however rest assured our holidays are priced the same as, or less than, booking direct with the tour operator
