the most popular are...

  • New York
  • Las Vegas
  • Boston
  • Washington DC
  • Toronto
  • Dallas (you can still visit the Southfork Ranch!)
Alaska

Cruises

these can be done by themselves or as part of a longer trip - here's a selection...

  • Alaska (usually 7 nights but there are a few variations)
  • Hawaii (there's a great 7 night one with NCL which visits 4 islands, plus others that sail from the USA mainland)
  • California to Florida - several cruises do this route and travel through The Panama Canal
  • Various cruises to Bermuda and The Caribbean
  • New England and Canada - usually from Boston and northwards towards Quebec City
New Orleans

Guided tours

these make life very easy and can be great value for money. We have hundreds of options from several different operators, so our aim is to find 2 or 3 that fit everything you're looking for

Danube

River cruises

while you don't think for USA and Canada so much for river cruises, there are a couple of very popular ones, and again we can often incorporate them into a longer trip.

  • Quebec City to Toronto on the St. Lawrence River
  • The Mississippi - Memphis to New Orleans
Bernina Express Train

Rail Journeys

As well as the well known routes, the Amtrak service opens up lots more possibilities...

  • Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper or Banff to Vancouver
  • Across Canada from Toronto to Vancouver,
  • Chicago to Memphis,
  • Quebec City to Toronto,
  • the new Rocky Mountaineer route from Denver to Moab,
  • and from New York there is an Amtrak service to Buffalo (Niagara Falls) taking 8 hours, and a longer 52 hour ride from Chicago to San Francisco - this last one is incredibly scenic as you'll climb through the heart of the Rockies and the snow-capped Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Multi Centre trips

you don't always need or even want a car...

  • 3 centre trip San Francisco + Los Angeles + Las Vegas
  • going to the Caribbean after sightseeing, for example new York + Barbados.
  • And they don't have to involve flights - in Canada, Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto make a great 3 centre break, and these can all be reached by train.
